Pastry Sous Chef

Position: Professional kitchen or culinary school graduate required. A focus on pastry is preferred. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fun, fast paced environment with people who are excited and passionate about sweets. There is lots of collaboration and creativity. Everyone on staff must be able to work the retail counter and interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Must be neat and clean. No smokers or tobacco/vape users. Expectations include all bakery assistant kitchen tasks as well as: Work quickly and with a sense of urgency at all times. Hand-shape multiple types of dough Must work well with others in a team environment. Must be able to self manage and work independently, with little direction for periods of time. Arrives on time to all shifts. Works safely around hot ovens, heavy equipment, and sharp utensils. Cleaning; including dishes and clean-up using industrial dishwashing machines as well as by hand. Keeps a clean and sanitary work area. Willingness to be flexible with schedule. Able to follow through with verbal instructions. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, must stand, lift and bend for duration of shift, and repetitive motion including fine manipulation of hands and fingers. ServSafe certification is preferred but not required. A working interview is required.
Bakery Assistant
Wages: $14-$16/hour

Job Type: Part-time
Position: Perfect for culinary students or those with basic culinary experience. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the pastry sous chef with bakery production, scaling ingredients, making and scooping doughs and batters, making buttercreams, and various other products, cutting products accurately, etc. Finishing techniques such as piping skills, cake decorating, and glazing is also helpful. All staff are expected to keep all areas of the shop clean including sweeping and mopping, and dishes, taking out trash, cleaning the bathroom. Spend time with guests daily - on the phone and face to face - talking about the menu, accurately taking orders, enthusiastically serving orders, working a cash register, helping answer guest questions, and making everyone feel welcome. Experience in a production kitchen or food related industry is preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to lift at least 25 pounds, and to go up and down stairs. ServSafe certification is a plus but not required. Schedule is flexible. Weekends in summer is a must. We are closed most major holidays and during Cherry Fest. Shift times will vary during hours of operation. Employee and family discounts. A working interview is required. Must be at least 18 years old.
Retail Counter

Position: We are looking for a few energetic and capable people to join our team for the summer season. Counter staff duties include, but are not limited to, customer service, stocking the pastry case and retail items, cleaning the retail areas of the shop including sweeping and mopping, and dishes. Spend time with guests daily - on the phone and face to face - talking about the menu, accurately taking orders, enthusiastically serving orders, working a cash register, helping answer guest questions, and making everyone feel welcome. Customer service experience is preferred but not required. You need to be neat, friendly, and professional. Opening and closing shifts available Tuesday through Sunday. The ability to work through the fall and into winter is great! Must be at least 14 years old, over 16 preferred.
